Welcome to our S2 webpage!

Here you will find out all the information about our S2 curriculum, option choices for S3 and important links that you may find useful if you are a pupil, parent, staff  member or part of our wider community.

S2 is a continuation of our Broad General Education experience where pupils attend classes in all curricular areas to give them a broad learning experience. The curricular areas covered are Maths, English, Science, Social Subjects, Languages, Performing Arts, ICT, Health and Wellbeing and Design.

There are five curriculum levels - Early, First, Second, Third and Fourth - in the broad general education (from early years to the end of S3).

This diagram shows the five curriculum levels with progression from the Broad General Education (S1-S3) to the senior phase (S4-S6).

This is a general guide. Pupils will progress at their own pace through the curriculum levels - the framework is designed to be flexible.

During S2 all pupils will be asked to pick their option choices for S3.

At this point they have to narrow down their subjects from 18 to 10 plus a wider achievement bundle and core subjects (PE, HE, PLP, RMPS, and PSE). They choose subjects across the curricular areas but are able to pick more than once subject within a curricular area if they wish to.

During this process, all pupils will have an interview with their pupil support teacher to ensure that they are picking a broad range of subjects and maximising their attainment opportunities as they continue their learner journey into S3 and then on to the senior phase.

• Wednesday 8 February 2023 S2 Options Information Evening We are aware that not everyone was able to attend our S2 Options Information Evening last week.
• Monday 16 January 2023 S2 Options Information Evening We are hosting an information evening for parents and carers of S2 pupils, to inform you of the pathways available as pupils progress to the Senior Phase.
• Monday 28 November 2022 S2 Parents Evening Our S2 Parents Evening takes place on Tuesday 6 December, online via School Cloud.
