Hamilton Grammar Learning Community
Campus Based Police Officer
Constable Jim Foy

Outside the school, as pupils head for home
Constable Foy has been
our campus based Police officer since January 2007. He works with
the pupils on a whole range of issues and his work at the school
has seen positive benefits for the entire learning community.
Some of the
initiatives he has worked on has seen pupils taking part in
activities such as camping, white water rafting, climbing, skiing,
archery, outdoor centre trips (team building), football courses at
Motherwell FC and trips to see premiership football matches in
England. These trips are all subject to pupils achieving
acceptable behaviour levels both within and outwith school.
Constable Foy also
provides classroom inputs to pupils on a range of safety issues
and he has undoubtedly helped break down barriers that can
sometimes exist between young people and the Police.
